Denver Startup Week (DSW) is big. It is the largest free entrepreneurial event in the world. Sponsored by JP Morgan Chase, DSW’s success has inspired Chase to create other Startup Weeks in cities like Seattle, Detroit, Tampa Bay, and Dallas. Indeed, the success of Startup Week parallels that of a startup. It is young, only four years old, and growing fast.
Denver Startup Week 2015 is only one week away, running from September 28th to October 2nd. Last year, DSW drew over 7800 attendees and 700 companies. This year’s edition will try to build on those numbers. With 206 events ranging from “Blake Street Happy Hour” to “UX versus CX: What’s the difference?” there are plenty of options for the starter-upper. Events are geared towards developers, designers, and networkers. But no matter the name or content, all events are geared toward the same purpose, startup growth in Colorado. Using the schedule feature on the DSW website, attendees can pick and choose which events they want to attend.
DSW centers on downtown Denver. 14 events are held at the aptly named “basecamp”–the Chase building on 16th and Arapahoe. Others are held at venerable Union Station and the new Galvanize building on Platte, to name a few. Registration is free and attendance is a must for any Coloradan startup or entrepreneur.
